The track hosts Monday's most valuable race in Britain, a ten-runner handicap over a mile where Dubai Dynamo, second at Ripon last time out will bid to go one better.
The early shows were snapped up about Ruth Carr's runner first thing but he can still be backed at around the 5-2 mark.
The trainer said: "I think it is drying out up in Scotland so hopefully he will get ground that will suit. He bounced back at Ripon last time, he does like it there, but he is a horse who thrives on his racing so we are going there hopeful."
As well as Ayr, there will be turf racing at Windsor tonight plus all-weather action at Southwell and Wolverhampton.
Over in Ireland, leading Investec Derby fancy Mars makes his debut on the all-weather at Dundalk while Killarney's popular July meeting also gets underway.
