Charter and Wood seek chase wins at Taunton

ROYALE'S CHARTER and Shooters Wood head the market for an intriguing handicap chase at Taunton (4.00) on Tuesday, with both having something to prove.

The Nick Williams-trained Royale's Charter finished second to Menorah and Kumbeshwar in novice chases last season before failing to complete at Ascot and Cheltenham, but got off the mark over fences at Worcester in August.

Shooters Wood, trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden for the first time by Ruby Walsh, has been a beaten favourite on his last two outings, including a length second at Kempton nine days ago.

However, Colin Tizzard is hopeful his veteran Mibleu can spring a 10-1 upset and said: "The ground is right for him, he's in good form and would have a chance."

Earlier on the card the Nicky Henderson-trained Molotof seeks a winning debut over fences after finishing fifth on his last outing over hurdles, in the Grade 2 Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree in April.

Elsewhere Yarmouth and Catterick both stage afternoon Flat meetings, while Wolverhampton host a twilight all-weather fixture with a 4.40 start time.
