NORAS FANCY just held off Dangan Daylight in a driving finish after odds-on favourite Tarla had fallen at the second-last.
The Jimmy Mangan-trained winner jumped the last alongside Dangan Daylight and there was little to choose between the pair on the run-in until Patrick Mangan forced his mount in front close home.
Noras Fancy, a 14-1 shot, scored by half a length from Dangan Daylight (20-1).
Tarla, sent off at 4-9, fell for the second race in a row. She was in front but being strongly pressed when she veered slightly right at the second-last and came down.
That left Noras Fancy and Charlie's Vic in front, but at the last it was Dangan Daylight who threw down the strongest challenge to the winner.
The winning trainer said: "She was a course winner, which was a big help, but soft ground is the key to her. I honestly thought we were up against it today. She'll stick to mares' races."
It is hard to say whether Tarla, unbeaten in four races over jumps in Ireland until falling at Cork in December, would have won if she had stayed on her feet. But her latest fall will have disappointed Willie Mullins, who had said his main aim was a clear round this time.
