A winner of two of his three previous races, Irish-bred Kaptah, a 14-1 chance, tried to make in the CZK2,500,000 (£78,000) event.
However, distress signals were being sent out approaching the furlong pole and the partnership faded to finish tenth behind Kadyny, who scored under veteran rider Jiri Chaloupka from the Slovakian-trained favourite Move Your Vision.
>>Durcan fared little better on his only other ride of the meeting when My Old Husband was a never nearer sixth in the Park Inn Hotel Prague Gold Cup.
The 1m4f event was won by Irish-bred Donn Halling, who is rapidly turning into a star in the Czech Republic, where he is unbeaten in five starts.
