Sprinter Sacre and Sizing Europe set to clash again

SPRINTER SACRE and Sizing Europe, the first two home in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham, are set to clash again at Punchestown on Tuesday.

The Nicky Henderson-trained chasing superstar will be attempting to stretch his unbeaten record over fences to ten in the Grade 1 Champion Chase in which he will also face Foildubh, Noble Prince and Days Hotel.

Henry de Bromhead will run both Days Hotel and Sizing Europe about who he said: "Our lad seems in great form. Europe loves to bowl away in front and he jumps so well.

"He put us away there at Cheltenham and we were considering the three mile race but we will stick to two miles and try and be right by the horse."

Punchestown general manager Richie Galway said that the ground is likely to be testing when the five-day festival starts on Tuesday.

"If the forecast is correct, I think we'll get under way on soft, heavy in places on all our tracks - chase, hurdle, bumper and cross-country," he told At The Races.

"Not having a spring and having such a tough winter means we're way behind where we normally would be but that being said we are lucky to have five separate hurdle tracks for each of the five days. On the chase track there is scope to move each day. Our fences are winged in so we'll open the wings, widen the fences, provide ground around the bends and do as much as we can."

Boston Bob, Back In Focus and Dedigout are among the eight declared for the Grade 1 Growise Champion Novice Chase while Champagne Fever and Jezki have Rule The World and Ted Veale as rivals in Grade 1 Herald Champion Novice Hurdle.
