Sarafina out to 4-1 after draw for Sunday's Arc

LONG-TIME ante-post favourite Sarafina has been pushed out to 4-1 (from 100-30) with William Hill for Sunday’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp after being drawn in stall 13 on Friday morning.

Only two winners in the past eight years have negotiated a draw wider than eight, and jockey Seamie Heffernan will also have to overcome a potentially problematic wide draw aboard the Aidan O'Brien-trained superstar So You Think after being drawn next door in stall 14.

Last year’s hero Workforce will come out of the same stall as he did last season in stall eight and Japanese hope Hiruno D’Amour was cut to 12-1 (from 16) with Hills after landing the plum draw in stall 1.

German filly Danedream, who was supplemented at a cost of €100,000 on Thursday, was also trimmed to 16-1 (from 20) after being drawn in stall 2.

Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: "We’ve eased Sarafina in the betting after it was revealed she has received a high draw, whilst shortening Hiruno D’Amour and Danedream, who are drawn one and two respectively."

Ladbrokes St Leger hero Masked Marvel will start from stall five and the Ed Dunlop-trained Snow Fairy stall 11.

Three-year-old colts Meandre and Reliable Man were both drawn in the middle, in stalls ten and seven respectively.

The Freddy Head-trained Galikova was drawn in stall four and O’Brien’s other two runners St Nicholas Abbey and Treasure Beach will break from stall six and 12.
