Telescope set to miss Sandown date
TELESCOPE, 5-1 ante-post favourite for the Investec Derby, will reappear at Chester or York next month rather than at Sandown on Friday.
The Galileo colt had been expected to line-up in a conditions race over a mile on Friday but connections have had a change of heart and have decided to delay his return slightly.
Owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing tweeted: "Telescope will not run at Sandown and will instead head to either the Dee Stakes at Chester or the Dante at York. He is in great form."
Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Telescope had two starts as a juvenile, being beaten a short head into second at Ascot on his debut in September before winning over a mile at Newmarket later the same month.
