Tales Of Grimm: has not run since winning a maiden at Newbury last year

SIR MICHAEL STOUTE on Saturday expressed doubts about sending Tales Of Grimm to the Qipco 2,000 Guineas next month with just one run to his name after he was forced to pull the unbeaten colt out of the Greenham Stakes at Newbury due to unsuitably soft ground.
Owned by Sir Robert Ogden, Tales Of Grimm is priced between 14-1 and 25-1 to give Stoute a sixth win in the Classic after landing a maiden on his only outing at Newbury last August.
However, having decided against running the son of Distorted Humor in the Greenham, Stoute is reluctant to step him straight up to the highest level as he did with Golan, his last 2,000 Guineas winner, in 2001.
Speaking at Newbury on Saturday, Stoute said: "I don't know about the Guineas but I didn't want to run him on that ground as I was certain he would sink in it. "I will have a chat with [racing manager] Barry [Simpson] but I'm reluctant to go to the Guineas.
"Golan won it on his second start but he was a different type and I'm not sure Tales Of Grimm is as well equipped."
