Sir Mark Prescott out of luck at Hamburg

Report: Germany, Saturday

Hamburg: Franz Gunther von Gaertner-Gedachtnisrennen (Group 3) 1m, 3yo+ fillies and mares

Sir Mark Prescott's raider Gooseberry Fool failed to make an impact under Jimmy Quinn and was 13th of 14 behind favourite Cherry Danon (Peter Schiergen/Andrasch Starke).

The winner's performance boosts the form of the German 1,000 Guineas in which she was second to the Ralph Beckett-trained Electrelane.

Schiergen said: "Everybody thinks that Cherry Danon needs it soft, but that's not the case and she can go on any ground. She has kept on improving this year and we think that she is a specialist miler so shall keep her at this trip. However there are no suitable races coming up in Germany, so we might have to go abroad."

Quinn said Gooseberry Fool stumbled around the bend and lost interest after that.

Prescott and Quinn were also out of luck with their other runner Albaraka, who was seventh of eight in this Listed race won by Temida (Miltcho Mintchev/Filip Minarik).
