Sedgefield to inspect frozen track on Friday

FROZEN Sedgefield will inspect at 2pm on Friday for their Sunday fixture after overnight temperatures of -5C left the meeting in the balance.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore said about the inspection: "It depends how warm it gets and what progress the warm and moist air makes from the south.

"If it gets warm enough to get the track raceable for tomorrow then we could stand up to the cold temperatures on Saturday night.

"It could be up to 3C today and there is no frost tonight, 2C tomorrow, but cold on Saturday night.

"It is frustrating as we were on the way before last night's frost. I wouldn't say we are more than 50-50 to race."
