Sedgefield to inspect for Sunday's meeting

SEDGEFIELD'S meeting on Sunday is subject to an 8am inspection on the day of racing.

The track was described as raceable at 10.30am on Saturday, but frost forecast overnight has forced officials to call the inspection.

Clerk of the course Phil Tuck is optimistic the meeting will go ahead.

He said: "I'm very hopeful. It's just sensible to call the inspection because there is apossibility of a frost.

"The forecasts at the start of the week were -2C for tonight, but now it's saying it'll be 0C. I think we'll be okay with that.

"We had similar temperatures last night and we were raceable this morning."

Frost sheets are covering the landing and take-off areas, as well as other vulnerable spots. Sedgefield's seven-race card is due to start at 1.05 and the going is soft.
