Ffos Las and Ludlow pass morning inspections

RACING goes ahead at Ffos Las and Ludlow on Thursday after both tracks passed inspections on the morning of racing.

A planned 8am inspection at Ludlow was scrapped while Ffos Las had to survive two checks before racing was declared on just before 10.30am.

Temperatures had been forecast to dip to around -2C at Ffos Las on Wednesday night but clerk of the course Tim Long was forced to announce an inspection at 9am after it dropped to -5.5C at the track.

The track was still frozen in places at 9am although Long reported that conditions were "improving steadily" ahead of a second check at 10.30am.

And Long's optimism proved to be accurate at he passed the course fit for racing shortly before the planned inspection. The going is soft, good to soft in places.

There are no problems reported at Clonmel, Southwell, Wolverhampton and Dundalk where racing also takes place on Thursday.
