GOLDIKOVA's half-sister Galikova (Freddie Head/Olivier Peslier) galloped into the Classic reckoning with an authoritative display in her trial for the Prix de Diane Longines (French Oaks).
Peslier was always travelling smoothly once he crossed from his wide draw to follow his pacemaker Polemique. Turning into the straight, he even momentarily took a pull before letting out a little rein, as Galikova strode to a three-length success over Adventure Seeker.
"She's a filly with a lot of speed, although I'm not sure exactly what she beat," said Head, who also trains supermare Goldikova, afterwards. "I hope she's in the same form a month from now," he added.
