Godolphin confident of success at Breeders' Cup

SAEED BIN SUROOR has forecast that the red-hot Godolphin stable will leave Santa Anita celebrating Breeders' Cup success and nominated Sprint candidate Gayego as his best chance of a winner at Flat racing's world championships.

Bin Suroor, who so nearly claimed a first victory in Tuesday's Emirates Melbourne Cup when Crime Scene beat everything except Shocking, saddles 14 runners over the two-day fixture in a bid to further improve what has already been an exceptional second half of the season for Sheikh Mohammed's trainer.

Bin Suroor said: "I think this time we have a very good chance and I'll be really disappointed if we don't win races at this Breeders' Cup. The horses are in great form and we have really brilliant horses here. They are good enough to win races.

"The Breeders' Cup is always hard, but I do like Gayego a lot and Music Note is doing very good, as is Girolamo.

"Gayego is a horse I like a lot. I think he has a great chance. It's the right race for him and the right trip and he has already won at Santa Anita."
