Princesse withdrawn after Carberry fall

Report: France, Sunday

Auteuil: Prix Leon Olry-Roederer (Group 2 hurdle) 2m5½f, 5yo+

LIKELY favourite Princesse D'Anjou was a late withdrawal after her jockey Philip Carberry was stood down by the racecourse doctors for the remainder of his rides, despite being uninjured.

Princesse D'Anjou is now likely to run in the Group 1 Prix Georges Courtois next weekend.

In her absence on Sunday, Royal Penny ran out an eight-length winner of the Prix Leon Olry-Roederer from Tell No One with Grande Haya the same distance away in third.

Carrying bottom weight at odds of 21-1, the five-year-old was completing a double for trainer Bernard Barbier following the success of Royal Surabaya in a big handicap earlier on the card.

>>Leading jump jockey David Cottin broke his collarbone in a fall at Enghien on Friday.

Cottin is 21 winners ahead of his nearest rival is his quest to become champion jockey for the first time.
