Royal double as Simenon wins Queen Alexandra
Report: Royal Ascot, Saturday
Queen Alexandra Stakes (conditions) 2m5½f, 4yo+
SIMENON left his rivals for dead for a second time this week as he added the Queen Alexandra Stakes to his win in the Ascot Stakes on Tuesday.
Ridden with extreme confidence by Ryan Moore, Simenon could not get a run having travelled smartly and had to be taken to the outside to challenge in the straight.
By once he was out Simenon was not for catching and returned the well-backed 11-4 favourite with Shahwardi second and Romeo Montague third. It was a second royal meeting winner for trainer Willie Mullins.
The victory was enough to secure Moore top jockey honours at the royal meeting with five wins, one second and two thirds.

CAMBORNE put trainer John Gosden and jockey William Buick in the winner's enclosure for the fifth time this week with a decisive victory in the penultimate race of Royal Ascot.
Held up towards the rear by Buick, the four-year-old was switched into the middle of the track by the rider and charged clear of his rivals.
French raider Hammerfest took second with Harrison's Cave third and Alkimos fourth. The win for the 11-2 favourite edged Buick ahead of Ryan Moore in the race to be Ascot top jockey.
