Overdose 8-1 favourite for King's Stand Stakes
HUNGARIAN sprint sensation Overdose, nicknamed the Budapest Bullet, has been made 8-1 favourite with William Hill for the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot on June 14.
The six-year-old, who could prep for the royal meeting by running in Haydock's Group 2 Betfred.com Temple Stakes on May 21, was defeated for the first time in a German Group 3 in August, but bounced back to form with a convincing success at Hoppergarten on Sunday.
"As usual the King's Stand Stakes is set to be a hotly contested international spectacle," Hills spokesman Lucy Rhodes said on Thursday.
"The enigmatic Overdose will be bringing a lofty reputation along and will certainly prove a popular selection with him having an almost cult-like following."
Entries for Royal Ascot's seven Group 1 races were released on Wednesday and Hills made Golden Shaheen winner Rocket Man their7-1 favourite for the Golden Jubilee.
