Regal bids for
Doncaster Cup glory

ROYAL AND REGAL faces 11 rivals as he bids to get back on the winning track in Friday's National Express Doncaster Cup.

Michael Jarvis's charge started theseason with a bang, winning the John Porter at Newbury before just being touched off in the Yorkshire Cup at York.

However, the four-year-old has not scored in two subsequent runs and connections will be hoping he can regain his best form after opting to run at Doncaster rather than tackle the Irish Field St Leger.

Royal And Regal finished behind Simon Callaghan's Finalmente in the Henry II Stakes and that rival reopposes along with David Elsworth's Balkan Knight, who was second at Sandown.
Luca Cumani saddles the progressive Sanbuch, while Aidan O'Brien runs Honolulu after taking out Yeats and Septimus at the final declaration stage.

Godolphin rely on Sagara, while Michael Bell pitches last year's Northumberland Plate winner Juniper Girl back into Pattern company following her seasonal debut at Salisbury last week. Bell reports Juniper Girl to have benefited from that outing, her first race for 11 months. "She's trained well and likes soft ground," he said. "She had a good pipe-opener at Salisbury so we're hopeful she will give a good account of herself."

Baddam, Chester Cup winnerBulwark, Carte Diamond, Shahin and Dolly Penrose make up the field.
