Dubai Duty Free still an option for Cityscape
CITYSCAPE, runner-up in the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile last month, could be back on his travels in the near future, with a possible trip to Meydan for the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free on March 31 still under consideration.
The six-year-old is no stranger to travelling, having won in Ireland and France last year as well as finishing second to Dick Turpin in Italy and Able One at Sha Tin.
Quoted on his website, trainer Roger Charlton said: "He continues in training this season and there remains a possibility of him going to Dubai for their World Cup meeting at Meydan on March 31 to run in the Dubai Duty Free.
"He will be campaigned in Europe in races where he is unlikely to clash with Frankel, being in the same ownership [Prince Khalid Abdullah]."
Sea Of Heartbreak was another from Charlton's Beckhampton yard to perform well abroad last season, winning the Group 2 Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp, and finishing her season with a close fifth in the Grade 1 E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine.
The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar remains in training and Charlton said: "Although she will have a Group 2 penalty there are plenty of exciting races for older fillies to contest in Europe, America, Canada and Japan for good prize-money.
"She will need to improve again as a five-year-old to win a Group 1 race but there should be plenty of opportunities for her to be at least placed. Her first race in 2012 could be in the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York in May or in the Group 2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud."
