RIPON'S meeting on Saturday will be the subject of a second inspection at 7.30am on the day of racing after an initial check on Friday proved inconclusive.
Clerk of the course James Hutchinson said there was standing water in the centre of the course but suggested the additional time would give it further time to dry.
He said: "We’ve had a further 18mm of rain in past 24 hours, bringing the total to 61.4mm for the week and 107mm for the month.
"There is some standing water in the middle of the track which we are trying to clear and there is a small chance of a light shower but it is not significant and I think the additional time will be sufficient to give us a chance to race."
Ripon's seven-race card is due to get under way at 2.20pm and the going is officially described as soft, heavy in places.
