RICHARD FAHEY'S five-pronged assault on the Weatherby's Super Sprint reaped dividends as Peniaphobia gave him a first win in the valuable sales race.
Ridden by Paul Hanagan, Peniaphobia got up late to reel in Lilbourne Lass who had made a bold bid to give Richard Hannon an eighth win in the race. She was one of six who raced on the far side with the breakaway group being swamped by the peloton late on. Oasis Town finished third with Haikbidiac back in fourth.
Hanagan was a completing a 23-1 double on the 5-1 chance, having earlier ridden Heeraat to an impressive win in the Hackwood Stakes.
The winning jockey said: "I couldn't really see [Lilborne Lass] until about the last half a furlong but it worked out well in the end."
Hanagan's first winner had come for his present employer Hamdan Al Maktoum and he was delighted to be able to get this one for his previous boss. "It means a lot to me," he added. "It is fantastic to have a winner like this for Richard and the owners."
Peniaphobia was making it three wins from four starts and helped to take Fahey through the £900,000 prize-money mark for the season.
