Mayson streaks clear of his ten rivals to score by three and a half lengths

MAYSON showed a searing turn of foot to dispose of some useful rivals in the hands of Paul Hanagan for trainer Richard Fahey.
David Armstrong's four-year-old, sent off at 4-1, was always prominent and he stretched clear as he met the rising ground on the Rowley Mile to leave Jimmy Styles (15-2) and Internationaldebut (25-1) trailing in his wake.
Mayson will now go for the Duke of York Stakes, for which he was cut to 10-1 (from 20) with Ladbrokes.
"He's quite talented, although if you looked at his form you might not think so," said Fahey.
"He hasn't had that many runs and he had a setback at three - I think he can still improve."

As the field approachedthe halfway stage, Sirius Prospect made ground on the outside with the sweet-travelling Elusivity, while in the rear Genki was asked to quicken but the response was not immediate.
As soon as Hanagan pushed the button on Mayson, nothing could live with him and he powered clear to score by three and a half lengths from Jimmy Styles, who had finished one position in front of the winner when they met at Doncaster last month.
Genki and Sirius Prospect posted tame efforts and finished towards the rear.
