TRAINER Dessie Hughes believes Raz De Maree has all the attributes to excel in the John Oaksey Memorial National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
Owned by James Swan, Raz De Maree has progressed rapidly since being switched to fences last summer, winning three of his six starts.
The eight-year-old has landed the Cork and Munster Nationals on his last two starts and is a general 16-1 chance for the 4m contest at Cheltenham.
Speaking in the Weekender, Hughes said: "He has been very progressive since going chasing.
"He loves long distances and is a fine jumper so we are hoping he could be just the sort to have a big shout in the John Oaksey Memorial National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
