The threat of rain triggered the announcement of the inspection on Sunday and the fears of the course officials were proved to be correct with 10mm falling overnight.
Shortly before 8am, the racecourse tweeted: "Racing cancelled today @LimerickRaces due to a waterlogged chase course, 10mm overnight."
That leave two meetings on Monday with Carlisle and Southwell both staging jumps fixtures.
