York going change prompts several gambles
DAY one of the York Dante meeting has seen several horses very well supported. With the going changing from good to firm to good to soft, good in places, punters have clearly taken a view the conditions will favour certain horses.
In the Group 2 Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes Maarek has been supported into 9-2 (from 7), while the Jim Goldie-trained pair have also shortened. Jack Dexter is as short as 10-1 (from 22), while Hawkeyethenoo is in to 12-1 (from 16).
The Pricewise pair of Louis The Pious and Farlow are into 9-2 (from 11) and 7-1 (from 16) in the 2.15, while in the same race Compton is also a mover and is now 10-1 (from 18).
In the 1.45 Bridle Belle is into 9-1 (from 14), while in the 3.50 there has been a notable move for Novirak, who has halved in price and is now as short as 7-1 (from 14), and in the 5.00 Old Man Clegg is now 16-1 (from 40).
Away from York, at Perth Ravi River is as short as 9-2 (from 10) for the 9.00, while at Naas in the 5.50 Club Wexford has been cut to 2-1 (from 4), although he is as short as 6-4. At Uttoxeter in the 4.00 Kilcommon Pride is 9-2 (from 7).
