Clondaw Knight is making his first start for trainer Lucinda Russell and Sandy Seymour, owner of the ill-fated Brindisi Breeze, after being purchased for £140,000 in August.
He is 4-1 (from 6) with Betfred, 4-1 (from 5) with Coral and 4-1 (from 9-2) with Boylesports to make a winning debut under rules.
A useful bumper performer that has made a promising switch to hurdles has also attracted some support at Cheltenham.
Village Vic (3.25) has been cut to 2-1 (from 11-4) by Betfred, 9-4 (from 3) by BetVictor, 9-4 (from 11-4) with bet365 and 9-4 (from 5-2) with Boylesports.
The other major fixture takes place at Punchestown in Ireland on Sunday where small fields and odds-on favourites rule the roost.
Road To Riches (12.35), Oscars Well (1.05), Back In Focus (1.40) and Hurricane Fly (2.15) are all odds-on for victory.
