Walsh out to round off week in style on Tarla

RUBY WALSH is aiming to round off a fantastic week at Punchestown and another superb jumps season with victory aboard Tarla in the Grade 1 mares' hurdle (4.25).

Quevega, Arvika Ligeonniere and Hurricane Fly have landed Walsh and trainer Willie Mullins Grade 1s at Punchestown already this week.

And Walsh believes Tarla will take all the beating "both on form and ratings".

"David Casey did the driving when she beat Rebel Fitz at Cork and you had to be impressed by that display," Walsh said in his Irish Examiner column."

"She bucked out, made all and never flinched all the way up the long straight. She's a smart sort and that bare form alone seems to give her an edge now."

Top-class racing also takes place at Sandown on Saturday with the champions of the jumps season crowned. There is also racing at Haydock, Doncaster, Leicester, Market Rasen and Ripon on Saturday.

Going:
Sandown:
Jumps - good, Flat - good, good to soft in places
Punchestown: Heavy
Ripon: Good
Doncaster: Good to firm (watered)
Haydock: Good to firm (watered)
Leicester: Good to firm (watered)
Market Rasen: Good, good to firm in places
