Fatcat out to score at Clonmel for Mullins

WILLIE MULLINS has got his team in scintillating form at the moment and he will be hoping that Fatcatinthecat can make a winning start over hurdles on Clonmel on Thursday.

Owned by Rich Ricci, Fatcatinthehat was successful on the Flat at the Galway festival in the summer but has finished down the field in his last two starts.

The three-year-old faces eight rivals in the 2m½f maiden hurdle that opens the card at Clonmel and was won by the Mullins-trained Ut De Sivola last year.

In Britain, jumps racing is confined to Wincanton after the course passed a second inspection at 10am.

However, Leicester was not so lucky and racing was called off after a second inspection at 10.30am. Market Rasen had been first to abandon after an 8am inspection.

Racing also takes place on the all-weather at Lingfield, which is hosting racing for the second time in its eight-day stint.

Going:
Lingfield:
Standard
Clonmel: Heavy
Leicester: OFF
Wincanton:
Soft, heavy in places - PASSED INSPECTION
Market Rasen:
OFF
