Fakenham: racing on after temperatures got no lower than 6.5CPICTURE: Edward Whitaker
Racing on at Fakenham
RACING at Fakenham on Monday goes ahead after a mild night at the Norfolk course.
A 7am inspection had been called but with temperatures only getting down to 6.5C overnight clerk of the course David Hunter was able to declare the meeting on before the inspection took place.
He said: "Racing is on today. There's no change to the ground at the moment so it's good to soft, good on the back straight up to the open ditch.
"We're forecast blustery winds and strong gusts and rain starting quite soon with about 2mm an hour, so we're looking at between 8-10mm."
He added: "It's gumboots, overtrousers and wet weather kit today - National Hunt racing in its element!"
