Punters taking the plunge on maiden duo
TYPHON DE GUYE, without a win from seven career starts, and beaten by 71 lengths on his latest run at Wincanton, is an intriguing gamble for the 1.10 at Taunton this afternoon.
Trained by Martin Keighley, the five-year-old is upped in trip for his handicap debut, and has been beaten a cumulative 191 lengths in his three previous starts over hurdles. However, having been a 16-1 chance earlier this morning, Typhon De Guye is now as short as 11-2.
Maidens are proving popular for a punt, with Lunette, who has her racecourse debut in the 5.55 at Kempton now down to as low as 7-2 from 10.
Ralph Beckett's filly is well bred for the 1m trip, and Beckett is in good form with three winners in the last 14 days.
