Punchestown calls 8am inspection on Friday

PUNCHESTOWN will hold an 8am inspection on Friday morning, day four of their festival, in case they receive more rain overnight than anticipated.

There were only light showers during racing on Thursday and into the evening Goffs Sales but these were due to clear leaving a dry and cold night.

Racing manager Richie Galway said: "In scheduling an inspection weare being very prudent but we think we'll be okay.

"The rain is due to clear and it should be dry and cold tonight and mainly dry tomorrow."

He added that they had already aligned the chase track ahead ofFriday's Grade 1 Ryanair Novice Chase and that there would be once again a new hurdles track in use for the three hurdle races, including the Grade 1 Rabobank Champion Hurdle featuring Hurricane Fly.
