PROMISING novices Prospect Wells and Colour Squadron were among nine entered for the 32Red Novices' Hurdle, registered as the Tolworth Hurdle, at Sandown on Saturday.

After receiving five initial entries on Monday, the race was reopened and attracted a bigger field of nine on Tuesday for the Grade 1 contest over 2m.

Prospect Wells, a beaten favourite when fourth in the Ladbroke Hurdle last time out, could face the Philip Hobbs-trained Colour Squadron as well as unknown quantity Captain Conan.

Colour Squadron beat the highly regarded Montbazon on soft ground at Newbury last monthwhile Captain Conan would be having his first run for trainer Nicky Henderson if he takes up his engagement in Saturday's race.

Henderson said: "Captain Conan is a most likely starter. You won't have heard of him nor seen him butyou most probably will on Saturday."

Also entered is Magnifique Etoile, still unbeaten over hurdles, plus Arab League, Aussie Blue, High Storm, Judiciary and Seedless.
