Progressive pair could give Longsdon double

CHARLIE LONGSDON will be hoping he enjoys a bumper Saturday, as progressive duo Pete The Feat and Loose Chips do battle in the Betfred Classic Chase and William Hill Lanzarote Hurdle.

Pete The Feat's rise through the handicap has been remarkable, with five consecutive victories this season taking him from a mark of 94 to 134. Warwick's Grade 3 Betfred Classic Chase [3.35] is his biggest test so far, with Restless Harry, Bradley and Rigadin De Beauchene all in opposition.

Longsdon said: "He has thoroughly enjoyed this season. He certainly seemed to improve for the step up in class last time so I've no reason to believe he can't continue. The trip is an unknown for him [3m5f] but we've always thought he was a proper stayer. Confidence is sky high."

Loose Chips has gone up 20lbs for two wins this season, and is chasing a hat-trick in the Listed William Hill Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton [2.40]. Longsdon added: "He's been a revelation in the last two months and is in great form."

As well as Kempton and Warwick, there is jumps racing at Wetherby, and Punchestown in Ireland, plus an all-weather card from Lingfield.
