Pont De Nuit, unplaced at Southwell on November 11, tested positive for dexamethasone, the likely source of which were intra-muscular injections of Dexafort given by the trainer's vet on October 19 and 20 with the advice Hannon should observe a 21-day withdrawal period before running the gelding.

In imposing a £1,000 fine for the offence, the panel acknowledged Hannon followed his vet's advice, but also took into account it washis second positive finding within 13 months. He was ordered to pay a further £300 for failing to keep his medical records in order.

The panel disqualified Pont De Nuit and informed Hannon all his horses will be the subject of examination and the taking of samples for analysis within the next 12 months.
