Plavius secures Carnival berth with second win
Report: UAE, Friday
PLAVIUS, a four-year-old who cost $9.2million as a yearling at Keeneland, earned a Dubai Carnival berth on Friday at Jebel Ali when he scored the second victory of his career.
Ridden by Willie Supple, the son of Danzig landed the featured 1m handicap in good style for new trainer Abdulla Bin Huzaim.
"That was a good effort as he is still learning his trade," said Supple. "He could be a nice horse with plenty of potential left."
Champion trainer Doug Watson dominated the rest of the card with Alsadeek , Jackson and Lord Ego registering a treble.
Fernando Jara rode the last two - and he also completed a treble aboard the Adi Selvaratnam-trained Tulipa Di Job, who won the concluding 5f handicap.
