Planet capable of big run in King George - Hobbs
PHILIP HOBBS has confirmed Planet Of Sound for the rearranged William Hill King George VI Chase next Saturday and believes the nine-year-old is capable of being in the shake up.
Owned and bred by Charles Lloyd-Baker, Planet Of Sound ended last season with victory over Denman and Cooldine in the Grade 1 Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup and returned this season to finish third in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock.
Long-time ante-post leader Kauto Star remains the hot favourite for the Kempton showpiece, but Hobbs feels Planet Of Sound, 16-1 with the sponsors, is capable of a bold show and could take advantage if the champion fails to shine.
Speaking to Racing UK, Hobbs said: "Hopefully, there's not too much rain as he wouldn't want soft ground, although I expect he'll run anyway, and I'd be very hopeful.
"If Kauto Star is at his best we won't beat him, but I'd be hopeful of at least a place."
