War-singer  PICTURE: Mark Cranham (racingpost.com/photos)

PICTURE: Almost five years to the day after he hung up his whip, Tony Dobbin revisted the scene of his most famous victory - the 1997 Grand National win on Lord Gyllene - to ride War Singer to victory in the John Smith's Aintree Legends Charity Flat race. Richard Hills, one year retired, finished second on Cool Macavity.

Dobbin said: "It was good fun. I got a bit nervous in the paddock because Pipe senior and junior said it was one of their coups so I was starting to get a bit tentative but it worked out in the end."
