Pat Cosgrave: "hopefully we can find another race for him here"
Cosgrave on the mark as Busker doubles his tally
Report: UAE, Saturday
Sharjah, dirt
BUSKER (Mubarak bin Shafya/Pat Cosgrave) doubledhis local and career tally when running out the easy winner of the 1m2f handicap at Sharjah on Saturday afternoon.
Winner of an extended 1m maiden on the course in December, he was registering his second career winat the 14th attempt and on his tenth start in the UAE.
The four-year-old son of Street Cry clearly relished this extra distance and the return to the Sharjah dirt surface after two defeats at Jebel Ali and Cosgrave said: "We know Busker likes Sharjah so were looking forward to running him here again but that was a nice and he's done it well.
"It was a more competitive race than the maiden he won and hopefully we can find another race for him here."
Earlier, Captain Rio (Satish Seemar/Harry Bentley) had also doubled his career score when opening his local account at the 13th attempt in the 5f handicap.
Never far off the pace, Bentley's mount quickened clear over a furlong out and always looked likely to hold on to the delight of the young jockey, who said: "He has run some good races in defeat but this was his first try at Sharjah and he has clearly relished it.
"He has come down the weights, which has also helped, and it would be nice to think this will have done his confidence good and he can build on it - especially if there is another race here for him."
