Pacemaker option for Tamayuz's Ascot bid
TAMAYUZ could be joined by a pacemaker in the shape of multiple Group winner Racinger for his clash with Henrythenavigator in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week.
The Jacques Le Marois winner pleased Freddie Head in a racecourse workout with Racinger over 1m at Chantilly on Tuesday morning.
Ridden by Davy Bonilla, the son Nayef went a good clip before coasting home clear of his lead horse, who also acted as pacemaker in the Jacques Le Marois.
"I am very happy with Tamayuz and he worked well," said Head. "We are on track for Ascot and he will breeze next Monday on ‘Les Aigles'."
Tamayuz, jointly rated the world's top miler by international handicappers alongside Henrythenavigator, has been beaten only once in six starts.
Stablemate Marchand D'Or is now 5-1 clear favourite with Coral for the Prix de l'Abbaye.
