Game On Dude back at Santa Anita for Baffert

BREEDERS' Cup Classic runner-up Game On Dude (Bob Baffert/Chantal Sutherland) returns to action at Santa Anita on Sunday in Grade 2 company before stepping up to bigger and better things.

This tough front-runner came within half a furlong of landing America's most valuable prize in November before he was run down by the closer Drosselmeyer.

Game On Dude is sure to start a hot favourite in Sunday's San Antonio Stakes, after which trainer Bob Baffert has a tricky decision to make about future targets.

The five-year-old could defend his title in the Santa Anita Handicap at the beginning of March, but the Dubai World Cup later in the month is a tempting alternative, with the proviso that Game On Dude is better on dirt than all-weather.

He shares top-weight of 123lb (8st 11lb) in Sunday's race with San Pasqual Stakes winner Uh Oh Bango (Mike Smith/Kory Owens).
