Sherwood excited by bumper winner Billy
PUFFIN BILLY, an easy winner of two bumpers this year, could have his first run over hurdles at Newbury on Friday.
The son of Heron Island, who is trained by Oliver Sherwood for Tim Syder, won by 17 lengths at Fontwell in March and returned to action to score by nine lengths at Ascot this month.
He is entered in the Inkerman London National Hunt Maiden Hurdle and Sherwood, featured in this week's Racing & Football Outlook Trainer File, said: "It's really exciting having this young horse in the yard.
"He's been schooling nicely and it's hurdles here we come, possibly at Newbury this week."
Puffin Billy can be backed at 20-1 with BetVictor to win the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and 33-1 with William Hill for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
