Monsieur Joe, trained by Robert Cowell, finished a length and a quarter back in second, just in front of the David Nicholls-trained Inxile.

Cowell's Group 1 winner Prohibit limbered up for his big race target on World Cup night with a fourth place finish a further length back.

Moore, who sat off the early pace, weaved his way through the field before hanging slightly right once in the clear to register a simple success.

Marnane said: "We hoped he could bounce back and the good gallop helped him. Ryan was always going well but I was wondering if a gap would appear and he does done well to find racing room.

"We will look at Super Saturday now."
