Noble Alan: likely to return to hurdling after a decent Flat campaign

NICKY RICHARDS already has one eye on the spring festivals for Noble Alan, who the trainer believes could be on a reasonable handicap mark over hurdles based on the form that saw him capture the 2009 Scottish Champion Hurdle.
The nine-year-old has been in good form on the Flat through the summer and registered a first win since November 2010 when winning a Thirsk handicap on his last start in September.
Also a winning chaser, Noble Alan has not been seen over obstacles since unseating Dougie Costello over fences at Cheltenham in last year's Paddy Power Gold Cup and he looks more likely to be seen in action over hurdles this jumps season.
Featuring in Tuesday's Trainer File in the Racing & Football Outlook, Richards said: "Something like the Coral Cup or a race at the spring festivals may be on his agenda. I don't think he's at all badly treated."
