Channon out for glory with forgotten filly Olga
MICK CHANNON is hoping Ollie Olga is back to her best as he mounts his challenge for an elusive first success in Sunday's Qipco 1,000 Guineas.
Channon's filly was found to be in season when suffering her only defeat in four starts last year in the Group 1 Shadwell Fillies' Mile and, despite beating Sky Lantern in the Prestige Stakes last year, she is among the race's forgotten horses at a general 40-1.
Channon, whon won last year's Irish 1,000 Guineas with Samitar said: "Let her stay in that category. I'm pleased with her, she's great and we decided to go straight there rather than run in a trial.
"She was in season when she was beaten in the Fillies' Mile and that is an ongoing thing with her. We're hoping it doesn't strike her again.
"That's her only issue, getting everything right. She's very well in herself and if everything is alright she will turn up on Sunday."
