MOST IMPROVED has been ruled out of the Qipco 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket next month due to an injury he picked up before last week's Novae Bloodstock Insurance Craven Stakes.
Trained by Brian Meehan for owner Iraj Parzivi, Most Improved was backed into 4-1 second favouritism for the 2,000 Guineas on the back of bullish words from his trainer and sparkling workout reports.
However, Most Improved missed his scheduled engagement in the Craven after being found lame on the morning of the race last Thursday.
A statement on Meehan's website read: "The preliminary reportfrom the vets has advised that he will not be ready for the 2,000 Guineas on Saturday, May 5 and he will be taken out of the race this morning. This is extremely disappointing for his owner and all of the team at the yard."
