Newmarket will stage its first meeting of the season on Wednesday

THE Craven meeting at Newmarket is set to launch on Wednesday with appearances from Qipco 1,000 Guineas hopefuls Starscope, Russelliana and Pimpernel, who were on Monday declared for the Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes.
The John Gosden-trained Starscope is a general 25-1 for the Guineas and as short as 16-1 with Coral. Sir Michael Stoute's Russelliana is no shorterthan 20-1 and Mahmood Al Zarooni's Pimpernel, who ran at Meydan twice in February, is 33-1 for the Classic.
The 7f Group 3, which attracted 13 runners, is also set to feature Lily's Angel, Lady Gorgeous, Nayarra and Sunday Times.
On the same card seven go for the Listed Blue Square Feilden Stakes, including 33-1 Investec Derby shots Jungle Beat and Perennial.
The Mick Channon-trained Samitar, who won the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies' Trophy last season, is set to take her chance in the £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint.
Channon said: "She is in good form and has wintered well. We decided to come to the Tattersalls Millions Sprint as a prep race for the 1,000 Guineas next month."
