Henderson has ground concerns for Bobs Worth
NICKY HENDERSON on Tuesday fired a warning to punters that there is "an element of doubt" about Hennessy Gold Cup favourite Bobs Worth running at Newbury.
The trainer is worried about the prospect of heavy ground for the RSA Chase winner, who is clear favourite for Saturday's big race at no bigger than 7-2.
He said: "Bobs Worth pleased in his work this morning but there is an element of doubt whether he runs in the Hennessy with a worry over heavy ground."
Henderson will walk the course at Newbury on Tuesday but does not expect to make a decision on whether Bobs Worth, who will get an entry for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on December 28, will run in the Grade 3 chase.
The going at Newbury was soft, heavy in places on Tuesday morning.
Stablemate Roberto Goldback, a general 16-1 chance for the Hennessy, is likely to go for the 2m4f handicap chase at Newbury on Friday instead.
