Veyron makes all to go
one better in Zabeel

VEYRON (Linda Laing/Rogan Norvall) made all of the running at a sedate gallop to secure the Zabeel Classic on Wednesday.

The seven-year-old, who had scored three times at Group 1 level before this latest victory, was caught close to the finish in this race 12 months ago by Shez Sinsational having set the pace but he was not for catching this time.
Norvall eased over to the lead in the first half a furlong before steadying the pace until the final quarter of a mile.
Asked to quicken as his rivals closed on him in the last two furlongs, Veyron quickly skipped clear having conserved plenty of energy up front running out the winner by two-and-three-quarter lengths from Shez Sinsational. Shootoff was a length back in third.
