Bud and Neptune make Grand National field

HELLO BUD and Neptune Equester have made the final field for the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday after Le Beau Bai and Always Waining were not confirmed for the race on Thursday.

The 14-year-old Hello Bud, who could be running for the final time in the Grand National, will be partnered by Sam Twiston-Davies and is one of two runners for his trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.

The final runner to make the cut, Neptune Equester will be racing from 5lb out of the handicap after Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Synchronised remained in the National.

Hello Bud is an 80-1 chance to win the Grand National while Neptune Equester is a 100-1 shot.

Should any of the 40 confirmations be withdrawn in the next 24 hours then the Martin Keighley-trained Any Currency tops the list of reserves.

Our Island, Abbeybraney and Smoking Aces are the next three reserves for the races.

Always Waining, one of the two defectors from the Grand National, will bid to win a third successive John Smith's Topham Chase at Aintree on Friday.
