Nazreef bidding to land Lincoln Trial again

NAZREEF bids to follow up last season's victory in the William Hill Lincoln Trial Handicap at Wolverhampton this afternoon (2.55), but trainer Hughie Morrison concedes that the six-year-old faces a tougher task.

A general 66-1 chance for the Lincoln at Doncaster, Nazreef has not won since April last year, and Morrison said: "He is 3lb higher, he is a year older and he only just won last year so he has to raise his game to win again but he proved he has got it in him when he put up an excellent performance to win at Kempton later on. He ran a good race at Southwell last month."

Marco Botti won the Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield last month with Planteur, and saddles favourite Guest Of Honour, while Mia's Boy, who was only beaten a quarter-of-a-length by Nazreef in the race last year, takes his chance again for Chris Dwyer.

Away from Wolverhampton, the Paddy Power Imperial Cup is the highlight at Sandown, and there is also action from Ayr, Chepstow and Gowran Park.

Ayr: Soft
Chepstow: Soft, heavy in places
Gowran Park: Heavy (soft to heavy in places on hurdles course)
Sandown: Heavy, back straight soft in places
Wolverhampton: Standard
